And I thought I was a nobody...

Come to find out, there is more to my name than I had originally thought. I tried to figure out where to start in the search for the meaning and origin of my name and decided to start with the last names I know. There is Hawkins, which is my mothers maiden name and the last name I carried for 15 years, Lemay, my biological fathers last name, and Wood, my current last name that I received when I was adopted. I decided to start with Hawkins and work my way through. My grandpa always told me our last name was English and I learned that Hawkins is one of the most notable of the ancient Anglo-Saxon race and emerged as a notable English family name in the county of Kent, where they were recorded as a family of great antiquity. The last name Lemay is French for young boy or girl. And lastly, Wood is a Scottish and Irish surname that means "defend". After I found out these origins and meanings, I searched my first and middle names. My first name, Erin, is Irish and means "Ireland" and was originally given to the island by the Milesians after the goddess Ériu. My middle name, Haley, is Scandinavian and means "heroine". So I guess you can say that I am a heroine that defends Ireland? Lol.
