SMB

My full fame is Stephanie Michelle Boisvert. I am of French origin, but my names are not strictly French. Stephanie is a Greek name meaning "crown" or "crowned." In it's French translation it is simply the feminine form of Stephen. My middle name, Michelle, means "Who is like God" in Hebrew and it is the French feminine form of Michel.
It was more difficult to find a deep origin of my last name. It's direct French to English translation is Greenwood, Bois meaning wood, vert meaning green. I found a more in depth translation where green is defined as young and inexperienced, and wood meaning forest. This could mean my ancestors were forest dwellers. There are records that show that the French Boisvert family was first found in Normandy where they were anciently members of the aristocracy of that region. There are records of settlers from France with this surname throughout the 17th and 18th centuries in Quebec, Canada. I was excited to learn this because I do not know much about my ancestry, though I wish to. My more recent ancestors moved to the United States from Canada in the last century, so finding that connection from France to Canada was more reassuring. I hope to learn more about my roots and ancestors because it is such an important part of who I am and how I got here.
