respect

I know everyone has already talked about how hard it is for them to choose just one person they respect most but I must say I really did find this to be quite difficult. In the end though, I have to say that I respect my dad more than anyone I know. I was a rebellious teen brat, but that never stopped him from loving me. My parents divorced when I was very young and I cannot think of one time he ever cancelled plans with me and my little brother. He has always been there for us, unconditionally. He has taught me so many life lessons and helped me mature into a functional adult. Not only do I respect him but I also admire his work ethic and parenting skills. He started his own business a few years ago and has become very successful. The business started from scratch and my dad has made it flourish. This was not handed to him. He has taken maybe a week off of work in total since he began. He gets up every morning at 5 am to be at work by 6 everyday. He stays at the office until 4:30 pm and gets a lot done. I worked for him over Christmas break so I know first hand how much effort he puts into his business. When he's finally home at 5, he makes dinner (which is usually delicious btw) and tries to make as much time for his family as possible. Before I went away to college I was never really comfortable talking to him about personal things but all that has changed since I moved out. I now consider him one of my best friends. I can tell him anything and he always has helpful advise. I respect him so much and all he has done with his life and with mine.
